The Park Cafe will host its first neighborhood family meal at 6 p.m. Aug. 17. A four-course menu will be prepared by executive chef Pat Gottschall and wine pairings will be offered by Justin Coleman of Monarch Wine Merchants.
Dinner is $50 without wine and $80 with wine pairings. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 843-410-1070.
Charleston Beer Week is scheduled for Sept. 9-16 at venues across the Lowcountry. The eight-day celebration will include 48 events, along with outdoor activities such as a disc golf tournament, guided kayak tour, bike ride at Marrington Plantation Trail, downtown charity fun run, ropes course and harbor cruise.
Morgan Creek Grill has hired Scot Goldfarb as general manager. Goldfarb has 32 years’ experience in restaurant management, and he has experience in fine dining, upscale chophouse and tapas restaurants, and family-oriented restaurants.
Hamby Catering is offering an Eclipse Eats menu on Aug. 21. The menu includes 48 tea sandwiches of chicken salad, shrimp salad, and pineapple and cream cheese on raisin bread; pickled okra and baby carrots, 1 quart of cold spinach artichoke dip with pumpernickel; and two dozen sweet potato biscuits with Carolina pit ham. Packages will also include a free pair of solar eclipse glasses while supplies last.
The package is $69, with additional options including wine and homemade whoopie pies.
