An international temperature-control packaging provider is expanding its Greenville location in order to house its U.S. and Canadian headquarters.

Softbox Systems plans to move into a 65,000-square-foot headquarters in summer of 2018. The expansion is expected to create 70 new jobs, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.

According to Wayne Langlois, president of Softbox Systems, the company is partnering with The Furman Co. Development in the design and building of the new facility.

“Our highly innovative passive shippers are boosting our market share both in the U.S. and globally in the pharmaceutical cold chain economy,” Langlois said, in a news release. “We are excited by our plans for continuous growth while we expand our high-quality workforce and continue our commitment to customer excellence.”

United Kingdom-based Softbox Systems has manufacturing locations in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. It supplies “cold chain packaging solutions to the world’s leading biotech, pharmaceutical, clinical research and logistics companies.” Its current facility in Greenville County is located at 201 Brozzini Court.

The new facility will have the company’s U.S. executive team, production, warehousing and a fully-equipped laboratory, according to the release.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $200,000 Closing Fund grant to Greenville County which will be used to offset some building construction costs.
