Texas-based ACS Manufacturing Inc. is investing $6 million in a new facility in Abbeville County that is expected to create more than 150 new jobs over the next five years, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.

Located at 1439 Cambridge St. Ext. in Abbeville, ACS Manufacturing's 141,000-square-foot facility is projected to come online in the third quarter of 2018.

"ACS is very excited to be expanding our business to the Abbeville area and working with the local and state agencies to get our facility operational as soon as possible,” said Dan Knox, ACS Manufacturing president, in a news release. “We have big plans to grow this location quickly and will be adding many new jobs to the area."

ACS Manufacturing produces solutions for sound and environmental issues, from acoustical equipment enclosures and fuel tanks to turbine systems and skids, according to the release.

"We are honored that ACS Manufacturing has selected Abbeville County to grow their business. We believe it speaks to the quality of our workforce,” said Abbeville County Council Chairman Bryan McClain, in the release. “County council is especially grateful that ACS Manufacturing has chosen our community for their financial investment and creation of these quality jobs.”

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to this project.
