The president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will be the keynote speaker for the second installment of the 40th Annual Economic Outlook Series presented by the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.
Thomas Barkin will discuss the state of the national economy, recent federal actions, and prospects and challenges for 2021 in a livestreamed event on Nov. 30.
Event registration is available online. Attendance is $20 for the public. University students, staff and faculty can attend for free.
The annual series is being presented this year as a two-part online event. In September, University of South Carolina researchers delved into how South Carolina’s economy has been affected by the pandemic.
Barkin serves on the Federal Open Market Committee and works closely with the Federal Reserve System’s Fifth District, which encompasses South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Maryland.
He will be joined by Moore School research economists Joseph Von Nessen and Douglas Woodward, who will update the 2021 state economic forecast.p
