The Big Game (is Super Bowl trademarked the same way March Madness is? We forget) is Sunday.

We’re gonna get the safety PSA part out of the way: has compiled some stats from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics that determine South Carolina is the fourth-most-dangerous state for driving during the Super Bowl.

So maybe take advantage of our many Uber and Lyft and taxi options; and those folks driving those Ubers and Lyfts and taxis, drive safe!

Now back to our regularly scheduled fun. Bars and restaurants all over the Lowcountry are inviting patrons to come and watch the 49ers take on the Chiefs in Miami and enjoy the many “Super Bowl festive” snacks and beverages.

This is a pup. (Photo/provided)And for those who aren’t about the “sports ball,” Charleston Animal Society is inviting people to feel “Super Bowl-ish festive” by watching the local Pup Bowl at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

What about those of us who can’t decide between sweet little babies playing “football” and puppies? The Pup Bowl is on Saturday, and the Super Bowl is Sunday, so you don’t have to choose — and you could conceivably even adopt one of the puppies and have it home with you on Sunday to cuddle up in the bark-a-lounger (we slay ourselves!) while you watch the commercials. Which apparently will not include the recent Bud Seltzer ad filmed in Summerville? We were definitely misinformed on that one.

Anyway, happy weekend!
