Cerulean opens new hangars at airport

Cerulean Aviation has opened two new hangars as part of its general aviation operations at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

The $14.5 million project includes a 20,000-square-foot corporate hangar and a 34,000-square-foot bulk storage hangar.

Cerulean Aviation was created in 2017 by the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District as a fixed-base operator for GSP airport. FBOs provide ground support services for general aviation customers, including fueling and some maintenance services.

“These new hangar facilities reinforce our mission to provide convenient and user-friendly services to support air transportation in the Upstate,” GSP President and CEO Dave Edwards said in a news release. “The project also helps us extend additional customer service to those using our fixed-base operator services.”

GSP said 11 corporate jets belonging to companies in the Upstate will use the bulk storage hangar. The airport said Michelin North America will use the FBO’s corporate hangar. Joanie Martin, chief administrative officer for Michelin North America, said the company appreciated GSP’s “commitment to improving mobility for the Upstate.”
