A Charlotte-based investor has acquired approximately 498 acres of pastureland and timberland near Interstate 77 in Winnsboro for $1.565 million.

NAI Columbia’s Tom Milliken, Tombo Milliken and Nelson Weston represented the seller, Southern Land Investments LLC, in the transactions. The land, two miles off exit 48 on Fairfield Hills Road, has frontage on Wateree Creek and smaller waterways. It will serve as future use for cattle, according to a news release.

“The previous owner realized that, with over 200 acres of very fertile pastureland, someone with an interest in cattle would be a better steward of the property,” Tom Milliken, senior broker and principal at NAI Columbia, said in the release. “We are happy to have worked with the seller to find that well-suited buyer who will utilize the property’s best use.”

Clark Building suite leased

RE/MAX Southern Collection has leased a 2,400-square-foot office suite at The Clark Building, located at 130 State St. in West Columbia.

Colliers International’s Mary Winter Teaster represented the landlord in the lease of the suite to agents Terence and Emily P. Smith.

“It was very rewarding to work with the owner of a building that’s been in his family for over 70 years and to witness the incredible modern makeover of this 100-year-old structure,” Teaster, a senior brokerage associate, said in a news release. “This undertaking has been three years in the making and worth every minute. Working with these structures and their incredibly unique stories has become my passion.”

The Clark Building features exposed brick interiors and a glass storefront surrounded by retail, offices and restaurants.

The RE/MAX agents specialize in buying and listing properties, consulting and staging homes from Leesville to Camden.
