Columbia Water warns customers of potential scam

Staff Report //June 6, 2018

Columbia Water has issued a warning against a possible scam attempting to gather information from its customers.

A fraudulent mailing to customers asked them to call 803-220-0186 in order to claim a package. Columbia Water said the postcard would have arrived by mail on or around June 5.

The company on the mailer is not associated with City of Columbia, Columbia Water or HomeServe Insurance services, according to a news release.

For questions about a mailing or a person claiming to be a representative of Columbia Water, call 803-545-3300. If you believe you are the victim of a scam, call crime prevention at 803-545-3555.
