The American Heart Association Lowcountry Heart Walk returns on Saturday, February 25th. The walk will take place at Brittlebank Park in downtown Charleston, participants arrive at 8 A.M. Supporters and survivors are invited to attend and raise funds to support cardiovascular research and education. The goal is to raise over $1,000,000 for the third year in a row.
The Lowcountry Heart Walk raises awareness that walking 30 minutes a day greatly reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke, which are the No. 1 and No. 5 killers in the United States. More than one in three adults in South Carolina have some form of cardiovascular disease.
