Greenville, SC – Augusta Road Business Association (ARBA) announces Summer on Augusta 2019. The
celebration events will take place June 20 through 23. Summer on Augusta is presented by Virginia
Hayes of Coldwell Banker Caine. Virginia has been the presenting sponsor since the festival was created
in 2013. Supporting Sponsors this year are Priority One Security, Bannister Wyatt & Stalvey Law Firm,

Summer on Augusta is a celebration of one of Greenville’s most historic business districts. “Augusta
Street is a state highway which makes it difficult to block off for a large festival, but this did not stop us
seven years ago. We are creating a collaborative way for the community to have a memorable festival
that brings attendees back each year for events such as the Shag Contest and the best Southern style
Tomato Pie Contest,” said Marty Garrison, ARBA President and owner of Paisley & Paper. The festivities
and live music take place all along Augusta Street in designated large lots and gathering spots. “Summer
on Augusta has come a long way from just an idea created around a table. We are grateful that the
community has embraced this celebration and looks forward to participating year after year.”
This annual four day festival is created to bring the Greenville community together for good food, great
music and a family friendly atmosphere. Summer on Augusta celebrates summer in the south with many
themed events and attractions. Our returning events include the Block Party at Capers Place, Grillin’ and
Chillin’ at Augusta Commons, the popular Tomato Pie Contest at The Pickwick Pharmacy & Soda
Fountain, After Hours at The 05, Happy Hour party at Tipsy Taco, Shaggin’ on Augusta and the Fourth
Annual Shag Contest sponsored by Kenneth Rhodes & Associates. Shaggin’ on Augusta will move again
this year to a permanent home at Augusta Village where businesses such as Augusta Grill, Paisley &
Paper and Tacozzini are located.

Summer on Augusta always features live music and this year’s lineup includes The Shag Doctorz, Kelly Jo
& Buffaloe, Trey Francis, Tim White, Louie Sagedy, Jamie Wright and Troy House.
Freestanding participating businesses will also be celebrating summertime with events and special sales
during the four day celebration.
