From plovers to skimmers to terns, hundreds of thousands of birds flock to our coast each year. Serving as a stopover for birds with long migrations and a nesting site for resident species, South Carolina’s bird sanctuaries are critical to many species’ survival. Join Nolan Schillerstrom, coastal program associate at Audubon South Carolina, as he takes us under his wing and sheds light on the importance of bird sanctuaries and public beaches to coastal birds.
