On Sunday, December 9, local barbecue joint Swig & Swine presents the Johns Island Oyster Roast at Trophy Lakes. The family friendly event includes all you can eat oysters, a barbecue buffet complete with a selection of Swig & Swine’s celebrated Southern sides, specialty cocktails, live music, helicopter rides, axe throwing and a Kids Zone with bouncy houses and face painting.
Advance tickets to this year’s ultimate oyster roast are on sale now via Charleston City Paper Online for $35 per person. Tickets will be sold at the door the day of the event for $39. Tickets for children under the age of 12 can be purchased for $10. Ticket price includes entry, all you can eat oysters and an all you can eat barbecue buffet. Cocktails, beer and wine options will be available for purchase. Specialty cocktails will be poured from Virgil Kaine and Dixie Vodka.
Guests can enjoy live music at the event, which is set to take place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., from Soul Fish and Fusion Jonez. The family friendly event will also house a Kids Zone comprised of three bouncy houses and face painting. Holy City Helicopters will offer helicopter rides and Blade & Bull will be in attendance with axe throwing ranges.
Just in time for the holiday season, local vendors including Rhodes Boutique and others will have tents set up around Trophy Lakes with merchandise for purchase. Sponsors for the event include Coca-Cola, Event Works, Regulator Boats and Palmetto Boat Sales.
