The S.C. Fraunhofer USA Alliance and S.C. Council on Competitiveness will be discussing new opportunities in innovation and risk mitigation in the international market at a workshop from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the BMW Zentrum.
Speakers will include Sven Schimpf, a managing director of the Fraunhofer Group for Innovation Research; Knudt Flor, president of BMW Manufacturing; Suzanne Dickerson, director of S.C. Fraunhofer USA Alliance; Matthias Hoffmann, president of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US; Bob Edwards, general manager of Bicycle Co. of America and Rodney Rusk, industrial 4.0 business leader at Bosch Rexroth Corp., according to a news release.
Topics will include matching research and development funds from the S.C. Commerce Department, the future of innovation and an applied research best practices panel.
The event, also available on a livestream, will be followed by a socially distanced in-person networking reception at 5:30 p.m. Because of limited space, companies are asked to limit in-person attendees to two, the release said.
Registration is $15 for the livestream and $25 for in person.
The S.C. Fraunhofer USA Alliance was created out of a partnership between the S.C. Council on Competitiveness, the S.C. Commerce Department and the Fraunhofer USA network to advance applied research in engineering across the state.p
