The Greenville Revitalization Corp. has received a grant from the Jolley Foundation for the construction of a children’s playground at the Textile Heritage Park. The amount of the grant was not provided, per request of the foundation.

The Greenville Revitalization Corp. is constructing the park across Smythe St. from the Lofts of Greenville at Monaghan Mill. The park will honor Greenville’s textile heritage and remember the life in the old mill villages while providing much needed recreation space to the community, according to a news release.

“This generous and timely gift from the Jolley Foundation will insure the completion of the second phase of our Textile Heritage Park,” said Douglas Dent, Greenville Revitalization Corp. CEO, in the release. “This phase will provide needed recreation for the children of the area and announce to the public that we will be open for business soon.”
