S.C. Ports Authority has awarded $61,000 in grants to 55 charitable organizations across the state through its annual Community Giving Program. Through the 2021 fiscal year, grants worth $2,500 and $1,000 were distributed.

In addition to the Community Giving Program grants, S.C. Ports donated $22,000 to Lowcountry Food Bank this summer and partnered with the CMA CGM Group and The Salvation Army to distribute 500 meals for Thanksgiving.


Charleston County Farm Bureau offices have donated $750 to Windwood Family Services, a farm that serves at-risk youth and families. The donation is part of a company-sponsored holiday community outreach program called Farm Bureau Cares.

This holiday season, more than $47,000 was donated statewide through Farm Bureau Cares to assist charities and individuals.


Black Ink: A Charleston African American Book Festival has extended registration to Jan. 4 and released the program lineup.

This free virtual festival will take place Jan. 14-16 and will include panels, workshops and networking with African American authors. Registration is $75 per author.


Vantage Point Foundation‰ŰÜhas been awarded the 2020 Boeing Veterans Leadership Award by the S.C. Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented to an organization that exemplifies exceptional commitment to local South Carolina veterans and their families.
