Helping Out highlights some of the many charitable events and activities going on in the Charleston area. ATTENTION: Submissions should now be made using our online form.

Hamby Catering is offering its 2018 Thanksgiving Pick-Up Menu, and for every Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving Package purchased the catering company will sponsor one Thanksgiving meal for a family in need through the Lowcountry Food Bank. The Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving Package, priced at $165, serves up to eight people.

Food orders are being accepted until noon Nov. 16. Items will be available for pickup from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 21.

The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry is trying to raise $20,000 to rebuild its Raceways exhibit, which was vandalized at 2 a.m. on Oct. 13. Three men hopped the fence, ran through the museum’s backyard and pushed over the Raceways exhibit, destroying it in the process, according to the museum.

The money will be used for museum-quality ramps, loops and rails, as well as resurfacing the play area.

Krystal Klear Productions is hosting Spooky Sweet Fun Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Park Circle Creamery. Kids can be dropped off at the event, which will include a mask-decorating contest; poetry, creative writing and storytelling with the Speak Freely Foundation; and ice cream decorating.

Tickets are $20. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Speak Freely Foundation, a local nonprofit organization that focuses on poetry and boxing as positive outlets for youth.
