A bomb threat made earlier this morning at Boeing South Carolina's North Charleston campus has since been investigated and no bomb was found, Boeing spokeswoman Elizabeth Merida said in an email.
Around 300 people — mostly construction workers and some Boeing employees — were evacuated following the bomb threat regarding the new paint hangar, a 400,000-square-foot building under construction near the campus entrance along International Boulevard, Merida said.
Local authorities and Boeing Security thoroughly inspected the paint hangar. As of about 3 p.m., the building was cleared as safe for work to resume, Merida said.
Boeing officials did not disclose how they received the threat.
"Ensuring the safety of all personnel is our top priority," Merida said in a statement.
