CAE to offer nonstop flight to Miami

Listen to this articleColumbia Metropolitan Airport passengers can fly nonstop to Miami on American Airlines beginning Dec. 18.
The daily flight will depart Columbia at 7:30 a.m. and arrive in Miami at 9:11 a.m., according to a news release from the airport. The return flight will depart Miami at 9:50 p.m. and land in Columbia at 11:25 p.m.
Initial service will be on a regional jet with a 50-passenger capacity.
“This is huge for the Midlands region,” CAE executive director Mike Gula said. “Miami is a destination that has been a part of our airline and air service conversations for some time, so we are very excited to see this come to fruition. Our passengers can now easily access destinations in the Caribbean, South America, Central America and various European markets with ease.”
Passengers can book reservations on the nonstop flight to Miami beginning Monday.
