Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport welcomed 13.4% more passengers in April (207,539) than a year earlier, when 183,012 visited the airport.

April marked the 19th consecutive month of passenger growth for the Upstate airport and passenger activity at GSP is not expected to slow down anytime soon, according to GSP’s leadership team.

“The growth we are seeing at GSP is exciting and reflects the significant investments airlines are making at the airport and in the region,” Dave Edwards, GSP president and CEO, said in a news release. “Airlines are adding flights, using larger aircraft and bringing new routes to GSP.”

United Airlines will begin daily nonstop service to Denver on June 7. American Airlines recently added a third daily nonstop flight to Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW) and a fourth daily nonstop to Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), the release said.

In addition, Frontier Airlines returned its service to Las Vegas and Orlando in May while doubling Denver flights to four times a week. In November, Southwest Airlines will launch new daily nonstop service to Baltimore; a previously unserved destination.
