The flagship event of the economic development nonprofit brings together executives, civic leaders, tech specialists, creative types and entrepreneurs. This year’s edition will be held Nov. 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the new USC Alumni Center on Senate Street.

A trio of speaker presentations is scheduled for the event, led by Aflac Group Insurance Executive Vice President and COO Dan Lebish. He’ll speak about how the insurance company’s Columbia presence grew so quickly thanks in part to the strength of the workforce and talent pool that existed when they arrived six years ago.

2Fat2Fly Wings founders Ramone Dickerson and Corey Simmons will also speak, sharing their story of starting the food truck, landing a national reality TV show and how the Midlands helped get them to where they are today. Husband-and-wife architects Adrienne Montare and Tom Savory will round out the presentations. The couple will talk about how the founded the Columbia Design League nearly two decades ago and how the community has grown and strengthened over that time.

Voting is also live online here for the Ignite! Ideas contest finalists. Koios, Vesta and Mr. Penguin Designs are all up for the $5,000 prize, sponsored by SCRA.

The event will also include an open bar, a networking hour and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Free parking is available in the City of Columbia garage adjacent to the center.
