The property at 1634 Main St. sits between the Tapp’s Art Center and the Agape Pharmacy near the intersection of Main and Blanding streets. The law firm, which is currently located in the 1901 Main St. office building, anticipates moving onto the second floor in late 2016.
The firm intends to renovate the 16,500 square foot property and lease out the remaining second, ground and lower level floor space. Boyer Commercial Construction will handle the renovation – which will feature interior, exterior and on-site improvements – while 1x1 Design will provide architectural services. First Palmetto Savings Bank will provide the financing.
Colliers International’s JP Scurry and Scottie Smith represented the buyer. The real estate agency will continue to market the space and is already in discussions with potential users, it said.
Belser & Belser specializes in civil litigation, business and real estate transactions, business formation, estate planning and creditor bankruptcy. Clinch Belser and his son, Freeman Belser, continue the tradition of Columbia-based Belser attorneys at the firm, which goes back two other generations to the late 1800s.
