The AFL marketing communications team brought home the “Star of the Show” award from the S.C. Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators recently during its 2015 Palmetto Awards.
The awards, which recognize businesses from across the state for communications excellence, were selected based on IABC judge evaluations by IABC judges in Dallas, Nashville, Tenn., and St. Louis, Mo., chapters. AFL was selected for the top honor after earning five first-place entries.
Other Midlands-based companies which earned excellence awards were the Avtec marketing communications department, Collins & Lacy law firm, Colonial Life Corporate Communications, Injeanious Media and the University of South Carolina College of Education, Lexington Medical Center, Midlands Technical College, S.C. Farm Bureau Insurance Corporate Communications and the S.C. Farm Bureau Federation.
Awards of Merit honorees included the city of Columbia public and media relations department, Lexington Medical Center, Midlands Technical College and S.C. Farm Bureau Insurance.
SCE&G, Duke Energy, Santee Cooper, The Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, S.C. Office of the Attorney General and the S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs, AARP S.C. also earned merit honors.
