Clemson University scientists will share research results on insect and weed management, precision agriculture, cotton breeding and more this month when the university’s extension service hosts the state cotton and peanut meetings. Extension economist Nathan Smith will provide market outlooks.

The annual S.C. Cotton Growers Meeting will be on Jan. 23 at the Santee Conference Center in Santee. The annual S.C. Peanut Growers Meeting takes place on Jan. 25 at the same location.

In addition to presentations by Clemson researchers, presentations also will be given by representatives from the S.C. Peanut Board, the National Peanut Board, Peanut Growers Cooperative Marketing Association, Virginia Tech University, N.C. State University, University of Georgia and the S.C. Department of Agriculture, according to a news release.

Attendees for both events will be eligible to receive pesticide applicators recertification credits and certified crop adviser credits.
