McEntire Produce investing $8M in Richland County expansion

Listen to this articleFresh produce processor McEntire Produce is investing $8 million in its Richland County operations in a move expected to create 21 jobs.
McEntire, which has operated in Richland County since 1938, receives about 40% of its business from McDonald’s Corp., according to a news release. The company, which added a state-of-the-art water filtration system in a 2012 expansion, serves McDonald’s restaurants in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida.
“McEntire’s latest expansion is a testament to our strong business environment,” Richland County councilman Paul Livingston, chair of the council’s economic development committee, said in the release. “We hope the company will continue to thrive for another 80 years.”
