South Carolina’s car insurance rates slow down a bit from a year ago

The Palmetto State has long been known for fairly high car insurance compared with the rest of the nation. Theories run across a lot of lanes, including financial, risk, education, socioeconomic levels and legal. However, the latest data from Insure.com, a consumer-focused insurance news and information site, shows South Carolina’s car insurance rates went down 11% from 2015 to 2016. Insuring a car in South Carolina still costs 2% more than the national average and is higher than 33 other states.
