Spartanburg Community College’s Lyceum Lecture series will feature discussions on “Technology in the Automotive Industry and Preparing Students for the 21st Century Workforce," today at 3:30 p.m. at the Terhune Student Services Building at 107 Community College Drive in Spartanburg.

The lecture will be presented by Mark Smith, Spartanburg Community College’s program director of automotive technologies.

"Technology is rapidly changing and evolving in the automotive industry. Even the most basic standard equipped vehicles are made up of complex systems that today's technicians must have a wide skill set to diagnose and repair," Smith said in a news release. "This lecture will introduce the audience to some of these technologies and how they work. Training requirements and how technicians stay on top of the dynamics of automotive technology will also be discussed."
