The S.C. Automotive Council will host its ninth S.C. Automotive Summit from Feb. 26-28 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville.

The event links industry leadership, researchers and economic developers through a B2B Matchmaker session and discussion on sector trends and trade policy.

“This year is definitely going to be the highest attendance that we have ever had, as we continue to see the interest and enthusiasm in our automotive industry continue to grow here in South Carolina,” said Amy Tinsley, executive director of the council.

She expects more than 400 attendees this year, surpassing attendance in past years, and emphasized the variety of industry players connected through the event. Presentation and panel topics on the agenda (.pdf) include automotive semiconductors, the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade and workforce development.

“We have more of a focus at this summit on economic development tools,” Tinsley said. “This year, we will have companies visiting from India and Japan, so it’s a great way to showcase what is happening in our automotive sector here in South Carolina and make companies and different organizations more familiar with what we do here and what an attractive place it is to do business and have manufacturing operations.”

Featured speakers include Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt and Gary Silberg, a partner with KPMG, among other industry experts.
