Nashville, Tenn.-based Pinnacle Financial Partners has named Mickey Renner the bank’s regional president for the South Carolina coast, including Charleston, Hilton Head Island and Myrtle Beach.

RennerRenner has spent his entire 27-year career in financial services with Wachovia, which was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2008. Since 2009, Renner has been the Wells Fargo South Carolina business banking executive for Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and Florence.

Before that, Renner worked for Wachovia as a business banker, business banking director, small business manager and retail sales manager in various North Carolina markets.

Renner is filling a role formerly held by Charlie Rivers, who retired earlier this year after 40 years in the Charleston banking industry

“Mickey’s accomplishments in South Carolina banking are second to none,” said Rick Callicutt, Pinnacle’s chairman for the Carolinas and Virginia, in a statement. Callicutt added that he’s wanted to work with Renner for several years, “and this was the perfect opportunity.”

Renner is starting immediately and will be located at Pinnacle’s office at 530 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.

Pinnacle Financial Partners entered the South Carolina market when it acquired BNC Bancorp, the holding company for Bank of North Carolina, last year.
