First National Bank is expanding its Lowcountry footprint with a new branch at Freshfields Village, the open-air shopping and dining experience at the crossroads of Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island and Johns Island.

HutchisonThe new location at 398 Freshfields Drive will be the bank’s third retail branch in the Charleston market, First National Bank said in a news release.

By the end of 2021, FNB plans to establish five retail branches in the region.

Chairman, President and CEO of FNB Corp. and First National Bank Vincent J. Delie Jr. said the company has seen substantial growth in the Lowcountry since it entered the region in 2017, and he reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to the community.

“The exceptional team we have brought together in Charleston, coupled with prime retail locations, will enable us to continue to successfully execute on our expansion strategy in this dynamic market,” Delie said.

Since entering the market four years ago, the bank has created commercial banking and wealth management operations along with a retail network serving Charleston and Upstate South Carolina.

Other Lowcountry branches include a retail location at 317 Meeting St. in downtown Charleston and 429 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant. There are also four ATMs in Charleston International Airport.

Regional Market Executive and President of FNB’s Charleston and South Carolina markets Leonard L. Hutchison III, said FNB has become a “fixture” in the Charleston area.

“The continued expansion of our physical network supplements our high-touch approach and even better equips our product specialists and bankers to deliver the full breadth of our comprehensive consumer banking, commercial banking and wealth management solutions,” Hutchison said.

Plans for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration will be communicated at a later date.

First National Bank is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Penn., and operates in seven states and the District of Columbia.
