For Upstate Warrior Solution, the funds will go toward its Stable Housing for Veterans program, which supports 325 veteran families through a combination of direct services support and case management, according to a news release. Upstate Warrior Solution will provide veteran families rental assistance or rehabilitation and will provide case management to ensure the families are able to remain stably housed long term, the news release said.

The funding will help the organization support veterans who are at-risk and who are currently experiencing homelessness and supplement other community resources that are currently out of funding, the release said.

“The affordable housing crisis continues to burden the most vulnerable members of our communities and the organizations committed to supporting them," Paige Carlson-Heim, director of the TD Charitable Foundation, said in the release. “At TD, we're committed to doing our part to help create a more sustainable and inclusive future for everyone, and that includes providing access to safe, affordable homes. This year's grant recipients are mission-critical to that work, and the TD Charitable Foundation is proud to support them in their efforts to create a positive impact and a pathway to housing stability in the communities we serve.”

Since its inception in 2005, the Housing for Everyone grant program has awarded more than $49 million to non-profit organizations and helped support more than 550 affordable housing initiatives in the communities TD serves.

Grants ranging from $150,000 to $250,000 were awarded in 15 states and Washington, D.C. Upstate Warrior Solution was the only recipient in South Carolina.
