The Elliott Davis firm will move its headquarters a few blocks, where it will have a Main Street presence and a bird’s eye view of Greenville from Falls Tower, one of the Camperdown buildings now under development.

CEO Rick Davis said the new offices on floors 4, 5 and 6 will help some 250 employees engage one another in a modern way as they make room for growth — a lot of growth.

“Growth means you need more space, and this will give us more room to grow and more room for people to work,” he said. The business solutions firm has been growing at a pace that picked up in recent years and should continue at a rate that doubles the local Elliott Davis workforce to 500 over the next decade, he said.

Headquartered in Greenville, Elliott Davis has nine offices across several states, employing more than 800 professionals in business services such as tax, comprehensive assurance and consulting.

Davis said the new offices will include open spaces to accommodate new preferences in working styles among the staff. He said much of the work undertaken at the firm is conducted in teams of various sizes — some long term and some short — and teams work best in an open space. A shared workspace environment, coupled with meeting rooms and common areas on each floor, is designed to encourage employees to forge cross-discipline relationships, according to a news release.

He said the prominent Falls Tower location was chosen to make a statement.

“We have always been committed to Greenville,” Davis said. “Our people believe in Greenville. We hope this space will help us attract the kind of talent that believes in our core values and helps us be a vital part of Greenville.”

The firm also will take 5,000 square feet of community engagement space on the ground floor at 435 S. Main St. The space on the upper floors covers 60,000 square feet.

“We’re at an exciting point in the evolution of Elliott Davis,” Davis said in a news release. “Our new headquarters is an extension of that evolution and will support the growth we’re experiencing throughout our firm. This space will provide the room and amenities to help us attract and retain the best talent in this very competitive market.”

The move is expected to take place in November 2020.

Camperdown is a “live, work, play” development scheduled to open in 2020. In addition to the Falls Tower building, Camperdown will feature a 196-room AC Hotel, 80,000 square feet of retail space, a 609-space parking garage, and the largest public plaza in the city’s history, according to the news release. The developer is Centennial America Properties of Greenville.

“The Camperdown team is ecstatic to be a part of the new Elliott Davis headquarters in the Falls Tower building,” Brody Glenn, president of Centennial American Properties, said in the news release. “Local companies reinvesting in downtown is one of the reasons Greenville has become one of the best downtowns in the country. Elliott Davis is a great example of this and their commitment to being a corporate leader in Greenville for years to come.”
