Winkler Group promotes COO to president

Mount Pleasant-based fundraising firm the Winkler Group has promoted its COO to president as the company’s founder and CEO prepares to take a sabbatical in 2020.

Jim Bush, who is a  principal at the firm in addition to being president, has worked in the fundraising industry for over 30 years, including leadership positions at Blackbaud, Omatic Software and the YMCA.

The Winkler Group also promoted Jessica Browning to principal and executive vice president, expanding the firm’s leadership team, and Nikki Rach was promoted to senior managing consultant, where she will assist in providing oversight for all projects.

“One of our objectives as a firm has always been to recruit exceptional talent and provide them with the tools to grow and lead the firm,” Bush said in a news release. “Our team today is evidence of this practice and as we continue to grow, so will our leadership team.”

Tim Winkler, founder and CEO of the Winkler Group, recently announced that he would take a sabbatical in 2020 to do mission work in South America with his wife, Deborah.

“With the firm on such solid footing, now is the ideal time for Deborah and me to pursue this dream we have been working towards for years,” Winkler said in the release. “We are humbled and thankful to be able to pursue this opportunity.”

The Winkler Group was founded in 2004 and has offices in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
