Anyone who owns or is considering starting a small business in the Midlands is invited to attend a Power Hour networking event hosted by the City of Columbia Office of Business Opportunities.

The Power Hour will be held Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the new Optus Bank branch at 1241 Main St.

Panelists will discuss business credit and securing business financing, including both traditional and nontraditional options. Serving on the panel will be Optus Bank president and CEO Dominik Mjartan, U.S. Small Business Administration lender relations specialist Fred Anderson, South Carolina Community Loan Fund chief lending officer James Chatfield, and U.S. Department of Transportation project director Hebrew Dixon III.

Participants will also be able to network with fellow business professionals and learn about the city’s services for small business owners, including training and workshops.

The event is free, but registration is required.
