A company that serves medical diagnostic providers with billing, insurance fulfillment and other services is opening operations on Daniel Island in Berkeley County.

XIFIN, which has customers and clients nationwide, said the company plans to add 150 jobs over the next two years to the site in Berkeley County, which is expected to open next month.

XIFIN Vice President Brian L. Kemp, who will be in charge of the company’s Charleston office, said the region’s economy, culture and workforce was attractive to the company.

“XIFIN’s presence in Berkeley County is reflective of the area’s vibrant IT and health care network, including numerous colleges and technical schools, and where IT employment has grown approximately three times the national average in recent years,” Kemp said in a statement.

The company provides business services for medical diagnostic companies by helping them secure payment using a cloud-based financial process known as revenue cycle management. XIFIN said its services give customers access to information about billing, revenue, financial trends, reimbursements and cash flow using their system.

XIFIN said the expansion to Berkeley County will help the company meet growing demand. The San Diego-headquartered company said that diagnostic providers continue to see challenges from the coronavirus pandemic, including issues with quantity of work and reimbursement from payers.

Charleston Regional Development Alliance board Chairman John Hagerty said XIFIN’s decision to locate in the area proves life sciences and IT companies can find local talent to fill jobs.

“Life sciences and information technology are our region’s two fastest-growing industry sectors, with more than 700 tech companies calling greater Charleston home,” Hagerty said, adding that XIFIN’s “selection of Berkeley County further validates that companies can find the skilled talent they need to thrive here.”
