The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce is holding the organization’s Business and Community Expo in late September as an in-person event, the chamber said in a news release.

The event will be held in partnership with the town of Mount Pleasant from 1-6 p.m., Sept. 23 at the Omar Shrine Center. Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie will start the expo with a mascot parade, organizers said.

Organizers said the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Expo continues to be the largest networking event in the town with informational, educational and interactive booths that provide demonstrations, product samples from businesses and food.

Expo Committee Chair Ben Knight said the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce has been planning the expo since the fall.

“The global pandemic and challenges surrounding COVID-19 resulted in significant obstacles for an in-person event last year, but we still successfully ran a virtual Expo,” Knight said in a statement. “This year, we’re extremely excited to again have our in-person Expo. This is a great opportunity for vendors to reach over 1,200 attendees.”

There is no charge to attend the expo, which also will have free parking, games, prizes, vendors and a happy hour from 5-6 p.m. the day of the event.
