Good Business Summit set for February

Lowcountry Local First, a nonprofit that advocates for local business, has named its board of directors for 2022, the organization said in a news release.

The staff and board of Lowcountry Local First said the organization works in three areas of interest to the mission of the nonprofit:

  • Educating the general public the importance of buying locally and adovcating for them to do so.
  • Working with elected officials, decisionmakers and thought leaders to facilitate an “environment for creating and sustaining local businesses.”
  • Delivering resources, programming, networking and mentorship to local businesses.

“We are thrilled about our incoming directors, and we are both grateful for and eager to lean into their leadership and insight,” Executive Director Jacquie Berger said in a statement. “From indie bookstores and hospitality to architects and developers, from all corners of the Lowcountry, our board offers not only support, but the wisdom and insight that can only come from local, independent business leaders who are in the trenches every day — fighting the fight, giving back, and keeping their hearts and heads focused on making this community better.”
