Popular Greenville barber shop moving to Overbrook neighborhood

A well-known Greenville barber shop is moving to a new location.

The Mailroom Barber Co. is moving to 1633 E. North St. on Jan. 3. It will be moving from its current location in Taylors Mill in order to offer a gender-neutral barbershop experience to a broader clientele throughout the greater Greenville area, a news release stated.

Robert Watkins, owner and founder of The Mailroom Barber Co., says its services have grown in demand despite the uncertainties of COVID-19 since its opening in Taylors Mill three years ago, and this new location aims to provide those services in a more centralized location for their clients, according to the release.

The Mailroom is designing this space to be a modern, gender-neutral barbershop with expanded space and staff to service the larger population of Greenville, the release stated.

“Our team provides a unique experience for all clients,” Watkins said in the release. “We pride ourselves on our skill and training which allows us to serve every customer in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

The Mailroom Barber Co is a full-service barbershop offering a range of precision hair-care options including haircuts, color, beard trims and shaves, according to the release. The barber shop emphasizes relaxed appointments for clients who want quality hair care with time allotted for consultation and aftercare. 

“We want to bring our talents and ideals to people struggling to find a high-end barbershop that caters to everyone,” Watkins said. “Clients should be able to find their own identity in their hair, and we want to support that freedom of expression for everyone.”

The Mailroom Barber Co. also operates a grooming product line, salon in Florence, S.C., and offers hands-on training in precision haircutting, the release stated.

The Mailroom sells its own line of hair products including shampoo and conditioner, pomades, beard oils, beard balms and lip balm, the release stated. All the products are handmade and created with ethically sourced ingredients from around the world.
