Three new companies have been accepted as members of the South Carolina Research Authority, and three more have received new grant funding.

All SCRA member companies receive coaching, access to experts in the organization’s resource partner network, eligibility to apply for grant funding and the potential to be considered for investment from SC Launch Inc., the Authority’s investment affiliate, according to a news release.

The new members companies are Builder Rocket LLC out of Spartanburg and two Lexington-based companies, CloseWise LLC and ElectroWire Inc.

Builder Rocket is an IT company producing construction-estimating software that enables companies to build a comprehensive customer product storyboard and estimating template that shares information among builders, clients, distributors and contractors.

CloseWise LLC, also an IT company, makes notary database and scheduling software for signing agents, signing services and title and escrow companies that allows them to digitize the signing process.

Medical device company ElectroWire Inc. is working to simplify access to the left atrium of the human heart with its ElectroWire transseptal system.

Grant recipients from SCRA are Carolina Seed Systems out of Darlington and two Charleston-based companies, Pensievision Inc. and Tandem Concepts Inc.

Carolina Seed Systems received a $50,000 federal matching grant. The agricultural company optimizes crop seeds using genomic technologies. The result is a superior, hybrid seed that increases value throughout the supply chain, according to the release.

Pensievision Inc., recipient of a $25,000 academic startup grant, is a medical device company developing three-dimensional medical imaging technologies for early-stage detection and analysis of cervical cancers.

Information technology company Tandem Concepts Inc. received a $50,000 demonstration grant. Tandem Concepts offers services that automate supply chain operations including integrated dispatchers, credit pre-approvals, automated order entries and instant bill reconciliation.

Grant funding is made possible in part by contribution to the Industry Partnership Fund, a program that helps to fuel the state’s innovation economy. Contributors to the IPF receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit.
