Charlotte-based SunCap Property Group has purchased 29.5 acres in Spartanburg County on which they plan to build a 270,400-square-foot Class A speculative building, according to a news release.

The new facility will be located inside Hillside Industrial Park in Duncan. Building plans call for 59 off-dock trailer spaces and 315 employee parking spaces, according to a news release.

“This infill site was selected based on its proximity to Interstate 85, as well as BMW and the inland port in Greer,” said Derek Mathis, SunCap senior vice president, in the release. “Given the region’s economic drivers, we have a high degree of confidence in the continued performance of the Spartanburg industrial market and look forward to bringing this exciting project out of ground.”

The property is open for build-to-suit proposals until spec construction begins in 2019, according to the release.

Colliers International in Spartanburg will handle the leasing of the finished building.
