Spaces, a company that offers shared work space environments, has signed a lease for 28,900 square feet on the first and second floor of Falls Tower, a part of the Camperdown development in downtown Greenville.

The 184,000- square-foot office building is currently under construction at 423 South Main St. near Falls Park.

The Amsterdam-based coworking provider will open its first South Carolina office when Falls Tower is completed in mid-2020, according to a news release.

CBRE’s Charles Gouch and Doug Webster arranged the lease on behalf of the landlord and developer, Centennial American Properties.

“Camperdown is the perfect location for a collaborative office concept like Spaces, and we’re very excited to welcome another new tenant to Falls Tower,” Gouch, senior vice president at CBRE, said in the news release. “Greenville is a thriving and vibrant city that is rapidly emerging as one of the fastest growing economies in the Southeast — one that more and more global users are attracted to.”

Camperdown is a mixed-use development that will have commercial, residential, retail and hotel space as well an active plaza and a staircase leading to Falls Park. Falls Tower is a key part of Camperdown, anchored by business solutions firm Elliott Davis and Bank of America. With the commitment of Spaces and another tenant, which will be announced soon, only one more floor remains available for lease at the 17-story property, according to the release.

“We are excited to introduce an international brand and the first location within South Carolina,” Brody Glenn, president of Centennial American Properties, said in the release. “This new workspace will offer the community a modern, creative and collaborative environment. The partners invested in the Camperdown development from Centennial American Properties to WCM Global Wealth envision Falls Tower being used in dynamic ways, and Spaces is a perfect addition to the building.”

Spaces, which is owned by International Workplace Group, or IWG, which offers creative work environments with over 50 locations in North America. Members have access to all IWG locations worldwide.

“At Spaces, we’re always looking for the next great location to expand our offering that aligns with what we stand for as a brand: being creative, dynamic, and collaborative,” Michael Berretta, vice president of network development for IWG, said in the news release. “Falls Tower and Greenville could not be a more perfect fit and we’re excited for our first Spaces in South Carolina to be in this city.”
