New South Construction Supply plans to broach the Florida and Caribbean construction supply market, especially for bridge and road infrastructure, from its Jacksonville location. (Photo/File)After a flurry of Upstate construction projects, New South Construction Supply, a Greenville-based distributor of construction products to commercial and residential contractors, has acquired a Florida concrete construction material distributor and supplier.

Increte of North Florida, based in Jacksonville, Fla., will expand New South Construction Supply’s capacity for the bridge and road construction business and help the Greenville distributor make a foray into the fabricated rebar and tilt-up construction space, according to a news release.

The combined company also plans to use their Florida location as means of breaking into the far South and Caribbean construction markets.

“I am happy to welcome Grant Denny, president and CEO of Increte of North Florida, and his employees to the New South team,” Jim Sobeck, president and CEO of New South Construction Supply, said in the news release. “For our first foray into Florida, we could not think of a better fit for our business and for our customers.”

The acquisition was finalized today, and Increte of North Florida will maintain operations under the New South Construction Supply name, becoming New South Construction Supply’s first Florida location.

“This acquisition, which is the foundation of our expansion into the Florida market, is a prime example of our commitment to advancing competitive choice in the industry by developing new markets and new product categories,” Abhi Singh, COO of New South Construction Supply. “Our customers have clearly expressed they want a service-first partner, not just a vendor, and we look forward to filling that void for them throughout the Southeast.”

“I was searching for a company that shares our culture of customer service, values our associates and is committed to doing the right thing — always,” said Grant Denny, president and CEO of Increte of North Florida. “From my first conversation with Jim Sobeck, I knew this was the company for us. Our associates and I are thrilled to join New South and help lead our charge throughout Florida.”

New South Construction Supply was founded in 1981 and specializes in concrete and masonry accessories, rebar and wire mesh, tilt-up construction, waterproofing materials and other construction products. The company’s main office, and a branch, is in Greenville, with additional South Carolina branches in West Columbia, Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Hardeeville; as well as Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; and Atlanta.
