Columbia-based building supply company sold

A Columbia-based distributor of specialty construction products was recently sold to a North Carolina-based company.

B&L Distribution Co. was recently sold to Southern Masonry Supply LLC doing business as Custom Brick and Supply Company, based out of Raleigh, N.C.

Midstreet Mergers & Acquisitions out of Raleigh represented previous owner Tom Korb in the transaction.

B&L Distribution has its headquarters and a showroom in Columbia, with additional showrooms in Charleston, Greer, Myrtle Beach and Fletcher, N.C.

After decades as the business’s owner, owner Korb decided to sell the company to Southern Masonry Supply. Co-owner Charles Parrish will remain onboard with the new owners, according to a news release.

Grant Fisher, a third-generation president of Southern Masonry Supply LLC, saw B&L Distributing as a perfect opportunity for a strategic acquisition, the release said. B&L’s multi-location operation will allow Fisher and Southern Masonry to expand their overall service area and product offerings throughout the Southeast, according to a statement from the company.

“Under Fisher’s leadership, I’m confident this company will expand for many generations to come and continue to provide customers with the best-in-class service they’ve become accustomed to,” Korb said.
