As Hootie & the Blowfish return home for three reunion concerts this week, the band is encouraging fans to make donations to Midlands-area charities.

Continuing the Grammy Award-winning band’s legacy of contributing to S.C. communities with golf tournaments, Homegrown Roundup concerts and fundraisers for Midlands-area pet shelters, Hootie & the Blowfish will match up to $20,000 in donations fans make at HootieGives.org.

Each night’s concert at Colonial Life Arena will support a different Midlands-area cause.

On Wednesday, donations will be accepted for the 9/11 Remembrance Foundation of S.C., supporting military and first responders. A school supply drive will be held Thursday for Richland County Public Education Partners and SC for Ed. Fans attending Friday’s concert can donate nonperishable foods for Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Monetary donations will be accepted at arena entry points on all nights.

Fans not attending the concerts can donate by texting SCHEROES, SCSCHOOLS or HARVEST to 44321. Checks can be made to Central Carolina Community Foundation and mailed to 2142 Boyce St., Suite 402, Columbia, SC 29201.

Darius Rucker, Dean Felber, Mark Bryan and Jim Sonefeld met as students at the University of South Carolina. Their Cracked Rear View album was released in 1994, won two Grammy Awards and sold more than 10 million copies.

Imperfect Circle is the band’s first new album in nearly 15 years.

The Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, established in 2000, has donated more than $3 million to over 200 charitable causes. Its endowed balance is nearly $5 million.
