Weeklong certification courses in advanced industrial engineering design will be offered in Charleston beginning late this month, according to a news release from the University of South Carolina.
USC’s McNair Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research is offering CATIA software certification courses through an exclusive licensing agreement with French company Dassault Systemes. CATIA, which stands for computer-aided, three-dimensional interactive application, is used in the automotive, aerospace and robotics industries, the release said.
Courses will be taught at the Darla Moore School of Business building at 151 Market St. in downtown Charleston. Course prices range from $1,975 to $2,500, according to the McNair Center website.
“There is a great demand for training current and potential employees in the state-of-the-art solutions technologies that are being used by major industry players,” Ramy Harik, an assistant professor in mechanical engineering at USC and director of McNair Advance, the center’s professional education outreach program, said in the release.
