The Imagine Upstate festival, which is returning to Greenville in April, is stopping first in Greenwood on Saturday, March 16 with the Imagine STEAM Festival. The event will be held in Uptown Greenwood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The festival will feature interactive exhibits and shows emphasizing science, technology, engineering, arts and math. More than 50 exhibitors have registered for the event, according to a news release. The purpose of Imagine STEAM Festival, fueled by the Greenwood Arts Center, is to ignite the interest of pre-K through 12th-grade students and their families in STEAM subjects by providing up-close engagement with technology and giving them exposure to high-skill industries, the release said.
“If we can reach them early, kids will grow up more interested in STEAM and are more likely to pursue careers in these fields where the demand continues to grow,” Sylvia Martin, education outreach director for the Arts Center of Greenwood and Imagine co-chairwoman, said in the release.
