Spartanburg Community College will hold its 2019 Economic Visionaries event at the Spartanburg Marriott on March 21 from 5:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event recognizes four “outstanding companies who have made significant contributions in transforming the Upstate business community,” according to the college.

Mark Bellissimo, managing partner of Tryon International Equestrian Center, will deliver the keynote address at the event, and Amy Wood, WSPA anchor, will serve as emcee.

"The Upstate is the engine driving South Carolina's new economy and its reputation as a global economic leader is strong," said Henry Giles, president of Spartanburg Community College, in a news release. "The Economic Visionaries (event) celebrates companies who have made a commitment to excel with vision, imagination, wisdom, leadership and energy. In return, these companies make an extraordinary impact in our community."

Funds generated from the Economic Visionaries event are used to support Spartanburg Community College scholarships, faculty development, book funds and emergency requests through the Spartanburg Community College Foundation.

Crow & Bulman Engineering, Johnson Development Associates, Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District and AFL were named economic visionaries in 2018.
