The University of South Carolina will begin issuing prorated refunds to students for meal plans, parking permits and on-campus residential housing.

The refunds will include fees for services not received on or after March 16, the first day the campus was closed after the university’s spring break because of new coronavirus concerns, according to a news release from USC. The school said it will begin processing refunds immediately and that most students can expect to have their accounts credited on or before April 22.

The university said the refunds are being issued under guidance provided by the S.C. Commission on Higher Education. Tuition, academic fees and student support fees are not refundable.

Greek housing and meal plans will be addressed by those individual organizations, according to the release, which said the school will provide details on parking refunds for faculty and staff soon.

The university is maintaining a website with news related to COVID-19.
