Greenville firm continues buying spree with purchase of Oklahoma power service company

IPS, a Greenville-based company that offers single-source solutions for industrial and commercial power and mechanical processes, has acquired Evans Enterprises Inc.

The sale includes all eight Evans locations, servicing customers across the South and central United States, according to a news release from Integrated Power Services. For IPS, these additional locations add services to underserved markets and enhance its network of 64 locations.

It has been a year of growth for IPS, starting with the January purchase of three companies in the western part of the country — Industrial Electric Machinery, Reed Electric & Field Service and A+ electric Motor. In June the company bought ABB’s U.S. and Canadian hydro generator rewind businesses. IPS purchased Tampa Armature Works Inc. in July, the company said in an announcement. Evans, headquartered in Norman, Okla., with locations in Tulsa and Pryor, Okla.; Waco and Abilene, Texas; Fort Smith and Conway, Ark.; and Springfield, Mo., is an electromechanical, power management and rotating equipment service provider. Established in 1954, Evans is a fourth-generation, family-owned company that has worked with customers in the industrial, renewable energy and commercial markets. Evans brought aftermarket services to the wind power generation market in 2006, servicing the industry’s first generation of electromechanical components and generators, the news release said.

The company serves more than 11,000 customer locations across a wide range of end uses, including power generation, utilities, water and wastewater, petrochemicals, air separation, oil and gas, metals, mining, paper, aggregates, cement, hospitals, universities, commercial buildings and data centers, the company says.

“This new partnership with IPS allows our company the unbridled flexibility to pursue several key market growth strategies,” Thrash said in the release. “Evans is proud to be part of IPS’s vision, innovative spirit, and bespoke solutions that build trusted advisor customer relationships. Evans will now become an integral part of IPS’s long-term strategy.”

IPS has the industry's largest network of locations, with repair centers, distribution centers and field service offices across North America, combining industry-specific experience with comprehensive engineering resources.
