Men’s Health Summit scheduled

Mary Black Physicians Group in Spartanburg has scheduled a Men’s Health Summit for Wednesday, June 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mary Black Conference Center at 1650 Skylyn Drive in Spartanburg. The conference center is located on the lower level of the Hugh R. Black building on the hospital campus.

The summit is being held to “help heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men,” according to a news release.

Physicians scheduled to provide health information include:

  • Cardiologist, Jack Dobkin, D.O., will discuss heart palpitations, common arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation
  • General surgeon, Dennis Mayer, M.D., willspeak about colonoscopies, from screening guidelines and prep to polyp removal and treatment of colon cancer.
  • Urologist Barry Bodie, M.D., will talk about prostate screening guidelines, prostate disease and treatment options.
  • Gregory Colbath, M.D., will cover osteoporosis and general bone health. 

Complimentary blood pressure checks also will be offered.
