BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is holding Medicare information sessions every Monday at its retail center locations in Columbia, Greenville and Mount Pleasant.

The hour-long sessions are available in the morning and afternoon.

“The last time there was a change to the standardized Medigap plans was 2010,” Terry Peace, BlueCross senior vice president, said in a news release. “They are changing again starting January 1, 2020. Medicare is confusing and there is more confusion now due to these changes.”

The company’s mobile retail center, staffed with agents equipped to answer Medicare questions and register new members, will also make stops at several S.C. locations in the next two months.

BlueCross offers Medicare Advantage as well as 17 Medicare Supplement plans. Plan F will continue to be available for consumers 65 and older and newly eligible for Medicare before Jan. 1, 2020, according to the release.

Online sign-up for classes is available. The retail centers are located at 1260 Bower Parkway in Columbia, 1025 Woodruff Road in Greenville and 1795 Highway 17 North in Towne Centre Place in Mount Pleasant.

The mobile retail center will make stops in Indian Land and Aiken Tuesday through Thursday and in Indian Land and Myrtle Beach April 16-18. It will also be in Sumter and Rock Hill later this month.
